Greetings,
and welcome to my web page. My page has many subjects,
so I cannot generalize the point of my page. In it resides
both personal (Music and Quake)
and professional (see Downloads
and Services) goals
of mine. Smaller sections that are not big enough to
have their own categories, but are big enough to give
honorable mention, are listed under Miscellaneous [MISC].
Any suggestions can be sent via Email to deadpete@iname.com.

- The
"ILOVEYOU" virus conspiracy

I'm
sure that by now just about everybody has heard
about the "ILOVEYOU" virus, and is worried
about protecting their computers. You've probably
also heard that the creator of the virus is a fifteen
year old boy from Manila, Phillipines who goes by
the name "Spyder", and whose real named
is probably Michael. Then again, maybe not. Wired
News has posted an article on "Love
Bug: The Conspiracy". Besides naming
various benifiting groups, such as the RIAA
and everyone's favorite evil monopolist Bill Gates,
they also have a quote from someone finally publicly
stating the stupidity of using Microsoft Outlook:
"The point is that the ROOT cause of these mass
virus proliferations is a pathetically insecure
email client foisted upon the public by a certain
evil monopoly whose name I need not mention." -

If you use Microsoft Outlook, and want the secure
alternative, go check out Netscape
(the new 4.73 has been released, so don't forget
to upgrade!), and be freed from virus worries! I've
always used it, and despite the dozen or so viri
that have landed in my mailbox, I have never had
a virus infect my computer.
One final note: I will not be making any posts for
a while, as I will be giving DpDesigns a new look,
and rearanging some of the areas!
- Welcome
to DeadPete.com! / DeadQuake Alpha

WOOHOO!!
I've finally moved to DeadPete.com! After
over a year of owning the domain, I finally found
a host! Big thanks to DrDemento for the hosting!
I'll have a cool new skin soon for the Bones model!
And last, but definitely not least, I have decided
to release an alpha of my mod, DeadQuake! It's primary
remaining hurdle is the new UI menu. I got everything
ready, and when I went to compile, it gave me a
bunch of errors which don't make a lot of sense
to me (I'm not really a coder, I just kinda jumped
into my own self-taught crash course, and got lucky
:-). If you think you can help me with the UI, or
just want to steal my coding for the new menu (as
long as you cite me of course!), then click
here for a ZIP file with the smack. It isn't
quite what is displayed on the
DeadQuake page (i.e.: there is no locational
damage), but I'll fix that later. Until then, click
here to get the DeadQuake Alpha! One last
bit - I'm thinking about making a new design based
off of the look of the entrance
page. Any feedback?
- Trent
Reznor / Fight Club / Dead Quake 0.1

Wow,
it's been a long time since I updated... A lot has
happened, too.
First, I met Trent Reznor!! Dear God, that
was awesome! I sometimes still have trouble believing
it, and it happened a couple weeks ago! The NIN
concert was awesome, with some really great lighting
effects, and huge digital TVs behind the band. The
extra money for the floor tickets was well spent!
After the show a bunch of us (about fifteen fans)
hung around the bus and limo exits, waiting for
Trent and the band to come out. Well, okay, we were
waiting for Trent. No offense to the band, which
is a great band, it's just that Trent is the main
guy behind NIN. After two hours, we spotted the
band in a limo, which pulled over so they could
sign tickets. They said Trent left right after the
show... Right. After two hours and fifteen minutes
a nice four-door car pulled up to the limo exit,
and a few people got in, one with a dog. Trent's
dog. It sniffed my friends crotch. ("Dude,
Trent Reznor's dog sniffed my crotch!") Okay.
Fifteen minutes later, he finally came out the limo
exit, and I was standing right next to him!
I completely froze. I'm pretty sure my jaw dropped,
but I couldn't really tell, since at that moment
all that mattered was that Trent Reznor was right
in front of me! He turned and saw me first,
and I froze all the more. With considerable effort
I forced the words through my mouth: "H...
Hi! ... C-Could you sign my ticket?" Hehe...
Dammit. Ah, well. He then spoke: "Yeah, sure."
Dear God, Trent Reznor spoke to ME!!
I froze again, and he signed my ticket. I was barely
able to take it back when he handed it to me! He
then went on to sign the rest of the groups stuff
(primarily tickets). My friend next to me shook
his hand (lucky bastard!! Why didn't I think of
that?!) His girlfriend hugged him, as did most of
the other girls. All the while he was signing, I
just stood there like I was catatonic, and stared.
He got in the car, and drove off waving, and we
all waved good-bye, while slowly walking after it
in longing. Some didn't wave, because they were
too busy staring at their signed items, or confiding
in their friends their amazement at meeting him.
Ahh... What a great night... I still remember it
perfectly. Well now, on to other news! I rented
Fight Club now that it's out, and recommend everyone
else does too! I saw it once in theaters, and had
an instant obsession! Since renting it on Wednesday
night, I've seen it five times, not counting today
(some days I watched it twice). I've been working
on a new site named -5 for a friend of mine, who
is a really cool artist. Once the site is ready
for the public, I'll post the news here. Also, I
finally got back to work on my mod, and it's just
about ready. I just need to fix an annoying error
I keep getting when I compile the UI. If anyone
might be able to help, please Email
me! Oh, and one more thing. I finally also
got back to making music, and should be releasing
a bunch of my MP3s soon! Yesterday I finished one
called "Postmodern Ultra-Retro Pseudo-Insanity
of the Foot". Hehe, that's fun-ny. I have some
other cool news, but until it's done I can only
say you should check back here within a few days
for something cool! Later.
